Many people say the Link from The Wind Waker is around 10 to 12 years old, roughly the same age as the young Link from Ocarina of Time. What these people fail to realize is that there is a lot of evidence that point to the opposite, that WW Link is ACTUALLY the same age as adult Link from OoT! How so, you ask? Best example: The legend in the beginning, which is passed through the islands' heritage and is what set the age for the "coming of age" ceremony. The images shown along with the legend shows the hero riding a horse, and speaks of him defeating the evil beast, or however it was worded. Young Link didn't do either of that. He couldn't ride Epona, and he definitely did not defeat Ganon, it was adult Link. Now speaking beyond the in-game references, the official timeline has Wind Waker on the ADULT TIMELINE split! Which points even MORE toward the fact WW Link is the same age as OoT adult Link. Back to in-game references: Young Link was sealed away for 7 years because he wasn't old enough or strong enough to wield the Master Sword. If WW Link is the same age as OoT young Link, he could not possibly wield the Master Sword, meaning it only makes more sense for WW Link to be the same as OoT adult Link. Then why does he look so young and short? Well, for one, Link in Skyward Sword is shorter than many of his fellow classmates, and definitely shorter than any adult character. And he's said, by Miyamoto himself, to be older than the previous Links. Also, it's definitely worth while to note that the style of Wind Waker (Which I find awesome and creative, and ages well) makes even many of the adults look short. Some shorter than Link. Long story short: OoT adult Link and WW Link are the same age.
